A late-comer to the 'Growing out of Trouble' book. SO glad I've read it. As a grandmother whose son and daughter are users, and hav e been for many a long year, I thought I knew most of it. First book that puts the facts on heroin, methadone, its origins, the likely doses, in such clear and easy terms. The non-judgmental approach to addiction was such a relief, AND the recognition of the difficult jobs probation officers and others involved have. What can an individual do to make any difference at all to the messy ad hoc way the NOMS seems to work? (Maybe the title has changed now).
